About Michael Hartman
Michael started out in Santa Monica CA, shooting actors and models while managing a photo rental studio. In his 1st year Michael was involed in full scale lighting sets for celebrity, fashion and catalog photographers. With his close attention to detail he also took on production, working with photographers from all over the US and abroad.
Michael then decided to learn the ropes as a photographer’s assistant working with well known industry photographers and watched as his lighting was published in the top magazines. After many years he gained the knowledge necessary to light any situation. He learned how to interact with art directors, models and the team of talented people to achieve the overall vision.
Michael started shooting and developing his style using studio lighting outdoors mixed with daylight. With his unique colorful style, his images pop from the pages. MH “I love to manipulate the environment around me using color and composition.” With his comfortable soft nature, he pulls out the intimate side of his subjects.
Michael is well liked by all around him and receives many compliments on his artistic vision. With his many years working with lighting on set with the best, he always gets the shot and every production is a success.
